Organization Overview

Organizing Intern
The Organizing intern will gain exposure and assist in various aspects of worksite organizing campaigns and efforts to build the union. The intern will also be assisting our Early Learning & Care division in their efforts to grow VOICE which represents independent early childcare providers.
The Ideal candidate is a current undergraduate/graduate student majoring in labor studies, sociology, political science, social work, or business administration. Must have strong desire to learn about union organizing. Strong research and organizational skills are required.
This position requires a valid driver’s license and car for travel within the state of New York.
Program Summary
CSEA is offering multiple paid summer internships opportunities in various departments throughout the organization. The internship program will be delivered through both practical hands-on experience that shows the different ways a union works for its members and collaborative educational sessions. Internship participants will not only learn about the labor movement and unions but will also have the opportunity to reflect on their perception about unions and how it has evolved throughout their time in the program.
